It may now be a little more than £12600, I really don't remember but it was def. less than £13000 because I remember thinking what an appalling salary it was! Especially doing a job where you'd probably never admit what you actually did - knew someone who used to work for them and she never 'fessed up!

  • sister in law is currently on maternity leave from the CSA, she has nothing but stress from the job (was on anti depressants before she fell pregnant), the problem is that those who make the decisions aren't the people you actually speak to on the phone.

Hubby is one of those fathers who was lucky, he did everything they asked of him and the assessment came out at a reasonable amount for his son but when I was on income support I had nothing but strife from them because they couldn't grasp the idea that my first husband had died., even to the point of sending demands for payment of child support to MY address when he had never even set foot in the place never mind live there
  • They keep putting my name in the correspondence and not my wifes ex-husbands name.
That really does worry me !!

OK, let's hear it for the poor peeps answering the phone at the CSA: £12680 pa, working until 8 pm one evening per week and / or one full Saturday in 4. It is naff, worse than naff! There's a 'typing and admin for teaching staff' job at my son's school being advertised at a higher pro rata salary than that!

The only advise I can give is not give up. Keep chasing them up and if you find that its going nowhere, compain in writing.

My ex left over 6 years ago, and have been helping CSA with their enquiries ever since. Suffered with the same old stories that lots of you have probably had to endure. Ex left job to avoid paying, moved and would not let anyone know where he lived, became "self employed" but sent in no tax returns - hence no earnings, CSA told ex that I was chasing payment - he then asked to see the kids and told them a sob story about CSA payments putting his new family into financial hardship (despite not paying anything! kids were very distressed after this one), promises from CSA of letters and contact being made but not actually happening - no one taking responsibility of my case etc, etc, etc.

Eventually, over christmas 2004, I wrote a letter complaint to the CSA which managed to get the ball rolling and 2 weeks ago I received my first weekly payment of £30 :j , although I received nothing last week!

My advise is to keep copies of any corresponance (letters, notes of telephone calls - times, dates, contact and details of call) and complain if neccessary, there is a dedicated complaints team who deal with cases as a matter of urgancy.

I do not think that all men are like my ex, and have many males friends that support their families financially and emotionally, and yet are treat like dirt by their ex wives / partners with the children being used as pawns and wish everyone luck in finding a conclusion that benfits everyone - especially the children involved.

CSA- SUCKS! Very bad dealings with them, My Ex seems to stir them up all the time, the best thing to do, is work for cash and give the kids stuff when they visit, i buy all their clothes and shoes, pay for school trips etc, whilst my ex lives off her boyfriend who pays all the rent, bills, the running costs of her car, she doesnt work, just seems to do nothing! And all i get is grief from the CSA and her! Id blow the place up if I could
In this trusted place U can erase
Every tear that ever rolled down your weary face
All the time U waste in that paper chase
Is time better spent in these arms of mine
