Post grad training and funding

Hi - wonder if anyone can help. OH is going back to uni to do a PG cert with the view to carrying on to PG Dip and eventually MSC. He's having to do it this way as due to life he didnt manage to finish his undergraduate degree back in the good old days.

So due to start at the end of this month and we are considering whether to take out a student load. OH is self employed in the industry he's studying and income tends to be pretty low (might change post qualification). We're both of the generation of grants so student loans are a bit of a mystery. The loan says that interest is charged from the date of initial payment at 4.6% - would it be better to finance from 0% credit cards or am I missing a trick?

You might be better to ask on the Student board as there has been previous discussion there of the new postgraduate loan system.
