Making roller blinds

I want to replace a large bathroom roller blind. Can't find one at a reasonable price which matches so as I've already got the mechanics, I wondered how easy it is just to replace the fabric. Where can I buy the stiffened fabric needed? I have read some things about using fabric stiffener but it sounds bit messy. Any tips from anyone who has made their own.

I've made my own using a can of spray fabric stiffener. It does the job in a matter of moments. Best used outdoors to avoid mess.
All you need to do is lay out the fabric (or clip to a washing line provided it isn't too windy!) and then spray as if you were spraying paint. You can see which bits you've covered while it still looks wet. The only bits where you need to ensure you get good coverage are the side edges, to ensure they don't fray - although if they are selvedges/hemmed that's not an issue either.0
