Mortgage Underwriting

I am looking for a bit of advise please on mortgage underwriting. I wish to get a mortgage as an employee but a close family member is still a director of the business I work for. I have my wage slips and can prove my income via bank statements but I am concerned about deeper checks underwriting may do if they flag that I used to be a Director and shareholder of that business.

The reason I became an employee is because its my wifes business now as we are in the process unfortunately of splitting up :( So it was agreed that I would stay on in a different role until things have stabilised for us both on a personal level.

Is it possible to get a copy of the underwriters step by step process and I don't want to get black flagged unintentionally but I also need somewhere to live, Any advice please?

    Hello,

It is likely that if you were registered as a director/shareholder the lender will find out, this should not be an issue most lenders will want you to sow 3 months worth of payslips and 3 months corresponding bank statements. I would suggest going to speak to a broker as they will know the lenders criteria and will be able to run you case past them before any applications are done.
