Dental treatment abroad

Apologies if this is in the wrong section, but I cannot find where the relevant section is! I would like some advice about finding dental treatment abroad. My son needs some treatment (root canal etc) at a cost of almost £700 - he has used dentists in Japan and Thailand when he lived there, but is looking to find one nearer home - preferably in the sun somewhere, so he can combine it with a holiday. His dentist has said that he can have copies of his xrays for £30 each - presumably this would cheaper than having them done again abroad?
I am also planning to go to a dentist (Swedent) in The Gambia when I go on hoilday there in November - has anyone used them before?
Thanks in anticipation to both questions.

I was hoping for more constructive replies. I am not looking for a 'dental holiday', just reputable dentists that other people have used - preferably in warmer climes!

The practice of medical tourism is by no means a new concept. Actually medical travel is thousands of years old. In ancient Greece,Turkey, pilgrims and patients came from all over the Mediterranean to the sanctuary of the healing god, Asklepios, at Epidaurus in Turkey. In Roman Britain, patients took the waters at a shrine in Bath, a practice that continued for 2,000 years. From the 18th century wealthy Europeans travelled to spas from Germany to the Nile and now in the 21st century, relatively low-cost airline travel has opened up possibilities for more than just the very wealthy. People from all over the world are travelling abroad for all kinds of medical, dental and wellness treatments

Cosmetic and elective dentistry abroad is growing and becoming a more viable option for many. Popular destinations include Croatia, Hungary, Malta,Poland, and Turkey.

TURKEY One of Europe's increasingly popular tourist destinations, Turkey combines the best of Europe with the best of the Middle East; a melting pot of history, culture and tradition. With an unrivalled reputation for hospitality, Turkey remains one of the Mediterranean's bargain-basement destinations and yet able to provide luxurious accommodation with the latest technology and expertise in the medical tourism market.

if you want to combine your holiday with a dental treatment in Turkey i can recomend you all to visit www.medicaltourismturkey.com it really helps you
