Don't apply for loan or credit during house move.

Advice to bear in mind if you are moving house. There is a period after you move house where you are taken off the electoral roll of the old house and put on the electoral roll for the new house. This takes about 1 month. During that month you are not on an electoral roll. If you apply for routine credit during this period you may more than likely find that you will be offered a very high APR rate (eg 18.9 instead of the usual 3.9) or no credit at all. Puzzled at such an anomaly, and because staff at your chosen financial institution (let's call them The NW) can't apparently see inside computers, you may then decide to check your credit score with 3 main agencies and after spending a whole afternoon on it eventually find that you are not on the electoral roll which results in a massive drop in credit score. You may also notice after going through the credit report, like a monkey picking nits of his mate, that The NW whom gave you the 'computer says no' news have entered the wrong address for you with the credit reference agency. Pleased at your amazing detective work and keen to share your good skills with The NW you will be reassured to know that they will not sort it out quickly enabling you to get the credit from them at the rate they offered in order to be sensible and reduce your car finance APR rate but rather they will investigate the glaringly obvious thoroughly over a long period of time. NB naturally knowing this will help you to make sure you don't apply for credit during this period and lower your credit score even further by getting crazy quotes and rejections.

Alternativly you could just wait six months till after the move and all will be fine based on historic link.
