Including interest in budget

I'm being very anal about money at the moment, and I'm using a software package (Accountz) to track where the money is going.

I'm including spending on credit cards but I've discovered that to make the figures balance, I've had to create an entry for 'credit card interest' as a separate expense alongside food, electricity, clothes and all the rest of it. It is pretty scary seeing it in black and white as part of the budget.

Is it just me, or does anyone else budget for interest separately, rather than just worrying about the overall payment?

I suppose it would be on the spreadsheet, because it is an expense, and you are trying to get your total expenditure.

I have to admit that the figure in my sig includes everything that I pay back, insurance and interest.
