Garden steps

Hello.
I would like to change a sloping bank at my house to steps on the far side and grass on the remainder. Its currently stones and small weeds.

I think I need 7 - 9 steps.

Obviously want as good a job as possible for as cheap as possible!! – so would be grateful if anyone can recommend a landscape gardener (or someone who could do this type of work) in the mid Down area please.
Also any advice on what sort of price this would be or anything else would be most welcome

Hi Rachel, I can't recommend anyone to do this, but step building is not simple. Or cheap, if it's done properly. Really, the bank needs to be dug away where the steps are to go, founds put in and the step framework built in brick or block. A lot of work, like the iceberg, most is hidden. Possibly a joiner could build a staircase of decking which would sit in place on the bank and be anchored to it, could be slippy in winter. Not as simple a job as it looks!
