Ask them to refer you to an occupational health provider, if they need to contact your GP they will have procedures for doing so that should protect sensitive data.
    Don’t be a can’t, be a can.
  • Thank you.

Do you know how long that would take, ive been told due to working shifts i need the ok from Doctor first.

It would be significantly faster to get an appointment with the doctor and have a fit note made out. That would include the diagnosis and also a statement that you are fit for work - assuming you are, of course.

They can ask your doctor but he can only give them this information with your permission. He is likely to charge them £150 to £200 for the report. You have a right to see the report before it is sent and can ask (not insist) that changes be made. If you and the doctor cannot agree he must include a note of you views in the report.

The cannot however "have your medical records" as the title of your thread implies.

As Sangie says, a fit (i.e sick) note would be far quicker and should be adequate for this purpose.
  • Thanks all...i think a Fit note would cover it.

They were asking about symptoms i had (don't want to say here) but think they was worried if it was passed onto other.

Fit note will be enquired about in morning.
