Best place to Sell Gold?

I have a couple of gold rings (not sure how to tell if its 9ct or 18ct?) but I am just asking as to where the best place is to sell gold at the moment?
I know a few years ago, the TV was littered with hundreds of 'buy gold' ads and websites but not so much now due to i expect the lowering price of Gold.
Can the 'send away gold' be trusted?
Anyones opinions or recommendations on the best gold prices would be great thank you
