Prom dress help please

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, im trying to figure the forums out lol.

I was wondering if anyone knows any legit websites to buy prom dresses. Im lookibg for my DD12 for her p7 prom. Shes seen loads online but im really wary as i was ripped off for £200 when DD19 had her S6 prom and the website was a fake one.

Buy from a reputable website - Tesco or M&S may not have much cachet, but you're pretty safe - and there are some good bargains such as https://www.tesco.com/direct/yumi-lace-detachable-strap-prom-dress/525-9790.prd

Alternatively, buy on ebay or Amazon and make sure you follow the rules for buyers. If anything goes wrong, you get your money back. Paying by Paypal always helps, too.

Does it have to be online? Physical shops are much better for prom dresses, as you have the chance to try on lots of styles. If its due to online being cheaper have you looked at local hire shops? We went round lots of shops, dresses started at £300 to buy, finally found a store that hired/sold all its stock. Daughter ended up hiring a dress for £59 that would have cost £625 To buy.

Just realised shes 12, i wouldnt expect to wear a formal prom dress at that age, more dressy high street/flower girl styling?

Thank you both for your replies, thers not many shops round our town and i have health issues so going further out is a bit tricky.

Ill have a look at tesco, debenhams, ebay and amazon and hopefuly we can get something xx
