If you look at the Reuge history timeline from their web site HERE, scroll across to the last page headed today, it says "Do you know it ?
Reuge is positioned as the only manufacturer of high-end music boxes and singing birds. As for the bottom-of-the-range musical objects market, that is in the hands of Chinese manufacturers."
Is there something about "mechanical" which rules this out?

ETA. The previous page headed 1960 says "Reuge decided to work tirelessly to revive the singing birds and took over the manufacture and marketing of mechanical singing birds of Bontems firm in Paris in 1960 and Eschle in 1977."

They do also make musical pocket watches which makes question 3 a bit of a problem.

If you scroll through their catalogue HERE, it does show singing birds and pocket watches but that is dated 2014. Has it changed since then?

Answering their competitions can be difficult.

They definitely make pocket watches, eg here

    http://www.alscher.ch/en/watches_reuge.html

'The world leading Music Box maker "Reuge Music" has a long tradition with Musical Pocket Watches.'

As you say, they also manufactured singing birds.

1960 'Reuge decided to work tirelessly to revive the singing birds and took over the manufacture and marketing of mechanical singing birds of Bontems firm in Paris in 1960 and Eschle in 1977.'

Not sure which option I would choose!

Why is this now in GO?
Perhaps because the site shows the end date as 30/04/2016 and people have been pressing expired? The countdown clock at the top of the comp page shows 29 days to go so it is current and the date is a typo. The T&C's show it as 2017.

Just bumping to see if you've received a response to your query? :)

I sent the query using their "Contact us" facililty but there has been no response whatever.
A similar comp back in 2013, posted HERE, did have singing birds as the only correct option.
If both answers are correct they will have to put responses with either one into the draw.
Perhaps a few more people could send queries to see if that wakes them up.

World Tempus have replied - as follows

You are totally correct that the answers are ambiguous as Reuge do indeed offer both pocket watches and mechanical singing birds. I have checked with the contest administrator and the answer that will be counted as correct is "pocket watches". Sorry for the confusion, Paul.

So anyone who has already entered with the perfectly correct answer of Mechanical Singing Birds will be ruled out.
They should, of course, accept either of the correct answers.
