Adv Finance Ltd....but I didn't apply!!! Possible fraud please help
Options
Hello lovely MSE please advise me if you can...
I have received an unsolicited email to my personal email address from Adv finance ltd trading as cover finance. I have checked and they are registered with the FSA. The emails states I just need to click a link to verify the application and does have my first name correct but no other personal details in it. I have tried both telephone numbers for this company and it goes through to a reception that say they don't work for them and all lines are busy. I've sent an email to them from the original email address they contacted me on advising I have made no such application and nor do I wish to. I am very concerned about this. I have no far refused to leave my telephone number to be called back as I have no idea how much personal info of mine they have.
I have spoke to FSA and tries the number they have for them to no avail. Please advise me I'm very very worried (looks to be broker for payday loans) and I don't want either my credit file trashed or a loan taken out in my name
I have not made any applications that could explain this either.
Thanks in advance for any advice

Delete it and don't click through on any of the links. It's a common form of phishing.0

I got an email last night with my correct name on it. Some foreign sounding fellow being a model citizen by informing me that he had stumbled across a file with all of my personal information on it. Just to prove he was genuine, he told me my full address and included an attachment for me to open with rest of my financial details on it.
Nice try...but the address he had was 10 years old.:DI came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0 -
Don't be worried how they got your name.
After all everyone here knows it too.0
