Good Morning fellow DFW Peeps and welcome old timers and newbies alike :hello:
Welcome and TGI Friday !!!!!
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
So, today I will:

- send everyone off with packed lunches

- update my online spending diary

- not increase my debt in any way

Morning Hypno and all who follow.
This thread is great as a nudge in the right direction, especially when it feels like baby steps forward and giant slides backwards occasionally. Today I am feeling, "£750 plumbers bill? How many flippin piggy clocks is that FGS?!!!" WHAT is the point?" But I will continue charting my small steps, and imagine how much worse my debt would be if I hadn't chosen the DFW way.
So today:
-I will not spend a fortune on sis's birthday - even though I really want to indulge her.
-I'll do my Quidco/Piggy clicks
-rice pudding in the slow cooker for supper, as OH is out for a farewell drink-up and I am the taxi at the end of the evening, so I can eat what I want.
-lengthy mystery shop report to do.
-pack up an e-bay sale
-stay positive????0 -
Well i made it to pay day today, so I have cleared off one debt will be looking to set up a savings account and put 800 quid in there for my savings to pay off the loan0

Am doing the usual, homemade lunch, Quidco clicks etc.. and had a couple of unexpected DFW things happen as well. Night out tonight cancelled, which is a bit
but moneysaving I suppose, and also won something in a raffle for £1 which is absolutely perfect for a friend's birthday present (I just hope she doesn't come on here! :rotfl: )

-cancel my new look store card, wasn't in debt with it but it's going!
-sort out my electric bill
-get claim details from my home insurance so i can search for a good deal as it's up in oct
-see if points have cleared on pigsback and claim voucher, maybe see what offers are on to try for another (tbh I may stop bothering now they seem to have stopped boots vouches)
have a good day all0 -
I was a naughty girl, and wasted a whole morning on MSE, so not much done in regards to working!! Wasted, or research?
I:
1) Listed a few things on ebay, one of which if sold will fetch an impressive £120
2) did my piggy points, no clicks til tonight and child is in bed!
3) Made some bread buns for tea rather than spend on them from the shops
4) Got the okay from a creditor on a debt, so set up a standing order so it's automatic. feel so good about that one!
5) got FIL to start paying on the car loan, seeing as he's got the car. So that's just chopped a whacking £8k off our debt, and given us an extra £40 a month to snowball (reducing debt by 16 months!)
6) Making homemade burgers for tea
7) started looking into course on lifecoaching, as it's an avenue I'm looking at exploring. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!
Current Pay Off Target : £1500 :mad:0 -
Got the bus into work, walked home from work to save a bit of cash. A load of my Ebay sales end today and looking at about £60 coming in from them (not bad for some stuff that has sat in a cupboard for years!) Also got two Amazon books parcelled and ready for posting tomorrow. Made £7 on those too.
Not a bad day all round, but I took £20 of the cash and treated myself at lunchtime today which kind of defeated the point, but hey, I've still got to live!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0
