why do I always bury my head in the sand?!

Hi guys,

I have once again got myself into a stressful panic, basically all because I didn't get on and do anything. I filed a court claim against barclaycard months ago, to reclaim charges, I received a form to fill in and send back within 7 days of the case management conference which they set for 4th Oct. I was all confused and didn't know what to do, 'cos I didn't really want to carry on my claim as it was stressing me out, so 'cos I didn't know what to do I just did nothing! Why?! And now I'm all in a panic. Have asked for help over on the reclaim board, but thought I'd just see if anyone here had any advice?

If you drop a claim, can you be liable for the credit card companies costs?

Why am I such a numpty? Will I never learn that if you ignore somethin it won't just go away?! :o

Don't know ref costs. But surely you still have time to get the form in if you send it recorded. So (when you get up) take a deep breath and a beverage of your choice and fill it in

  • hi monkeymonkey

i'm reasonably well organised and yet couldn't get an answer on any of the boards about how to fill in a particular section on the court form for a reclaim.

at literally the last minute i just closed my eyes and made a decision. then raced down to the court to get the form in (court was closed of course!! and the letterbox had no label on it, so it might have just been the fag bin :) ) . but it worked, and i got all my charges back + interest.

just try and get back into the game! i find the act of just making one decision breaks down the blockage if you see what i mean.

    good luck

  • Just wanted to say thanks for your responses, they really helped me to feel calmer. I didn't post back straight away 'cos was still in a bit of a tizwaz and not really knowing what I should do, but in the end I did decide to go to the court for the case management meeting.... and I won! Well, I say I won, but I didn't even have to go in, the solicitor for the credit card company had left a message saying she wanted to speak to me, and straight away she said they were going to settle! It's really only a very small amount of money (especially compared to my debts) and as yet I haven't actually had the money, but they've signed an order saying that they'll pay, so I'm really pleased...and so relieved I went. So thanks for your advice and helping me not to chicken out.
