Loft conversion Belfast

Options
Hi,
Planning to have my loft converted, had thought about it about 5 years ago but put off by cost but growing family has changed things again.
Just wondered has anyone had this done in last couple of years and if you could recommend anyone? And what is the best way to get things started,
Would you use a business to do it from start to finish, including design, planning permission, building control etc. or is it better to find an architect and then apply for planning then find a builder?
Hope to get an en-suite room with a dormer.
Many thanks

  • In relation to a loft conversion, has anyone ever bought a property which has a loft conversion complete many years ago but the owner didn't obtain BC approval at the time.

Now when someone is trying to purchase the property the solicitor has asked for BC approval which the owner has had a BC officer out but quite a bit of work is required to bring it to standard or it can be reverted back to trap door hatch??
