Does anyone know where you can receive free tax advice? I'm needing to ask a few questions as I don't understand what applies to me regarding a Capital gains, stamp duty and inheritance tax. I just need a few questions answered by a solicitor to work out whet routes apply to me individually ? Any recommendation on free legal trusted advice?

taxvol.org.uk if you qualify. Otherwise to get decent quality advice, I would recommend you pay a professional.

Most accountants will give you an initial consultation free of charge but would not give advice at that point, unless you chose to pay.

The difference between paid for and free advice is very simple, it is called professional indemnity insurance. So if you get duff free advice and lose the odd £10k as a result, tough luck. But if you get duff advice from someone with PII cover there is every chance you'll get your £10k back.

Thanks for the help. It's just a few questions I wanted to ask, without instructing work. Not complex but thought if I know some options I can instruct the appropriate work when I know what route to take. Tax is so complex!
