When Stoke City won promotion to the Premier League in 2008, not many of their fans would have dared to dream that the Potters would still be a top-flight club a decade later. They certainly could never have imaged paying the same price for their season ticket 10 years on as they did at the start of that historic campaign. Yet it has all come to pass.
The Potters have not only survived as a Premier League club, they have prospered… and are fighting hard to secure their fourth successive top-half finish under Mark Hughes, a feat never before achieved by a Stoke City manager.
As for season tickets (or season cards, as they are now known), not only are they the same price at face value, their cost has actually fallen in real terms, by about £88 if you are a Boothen Ender.
But why bother about the cost of watching Stoke City, whatever the price, when you can do so for free. Courtesy of Stoke City FC, we have a pair of season tickets to give away for the Potters' 2017/18 campaign – the 10-year anniversary of that glorious promotion season.
Stoke have had some highs and lows this season, but their celebration campaign promises to be as intriguing as any of the nine that have gone before. Amid talk of lowering the average age of the Potters' squad, Mark Hughes looks like being a busy man in the summer as he seeks out exciting new talent to grace the bet365 Stadium.
Add to that the further development of exciting youngsters Ramadan and Saido Berahino alongside the inspirational play of the likes of Marko Arnautovic and it could be Stoke's best Premier League campaign to date. Here is your chance to be a part of it...
Who captained Stoke City to promotion in 2007/08?
a) Rory Delap
b) Andy Griffin - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007%E2%80%9308_Stoke_City_F.C._season#Squad_statistics
c) Richard Cresswell
