Night shift not covered in contract?.

Hi all,
Just looking for some quick advice on how to best raise this with an employer, my contract states our shifts may include weekends, evenings and bank holidays, which is fine i've been doing them for so long now it's just a normal day for me.
However they have now mentioned our shifts will include night work and just wanted to know how to speak with them about it and how I might be able to negotiate any extra pay (although I understand there is no law to say this should be) for the shifts since i'm currently not contractually obliged to work the shifts?.

I suppose I'm being too optimistic hoping a union might be involved, somewhere in the picture?
Otherwise you could argue redundancy if there is no need for a day/evening type job any more. You can ASK for whatever you like, but the employer is in a fairly strong position here, I would judge - the bottom line is either you accept a changed contract or you may not have a job!
I hope I am wrong.....Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
It sounds like care work (I might be wrong mind) but I know in the company I work you don't get paid any more for night work sadly. In some jobs you do, but it's often only minimum:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one
