Proof of address living with parents.

We've applied for our mortgage and its gone to valuation state, the underwriter has asked for proof of address from 2014. As im living with parents i dont have my name on any utility bills, or council tax or anything like that. so i thought simply i would use a bank statement,

However shortly after moving out of my dads and into my mums in 2012 i was involved in a car accident, which made me forget to update my banks address details (i suffered a back injury that took 18 months of physio to fix) I had paperless statements so i never realized until 2015 when i failed a security question (postcode) that it wasn't updated.

This means that i dont have any documents that say my current address from that year and i dont know what to do, i have no HMRC documents for that year either. The only document i have is a hmrc document dated October 2015 that covers April 2014- April 2015, and a Credit agreement for 02 which is dated November 2014

I've only ever lived at 2 addresses, both of them being my parents addresses. im worried that my mortgage will be declined because of this. what are peoples thoughts?

Do you not have wage slips or P60? Driving licence? National insurance number card? Letters from GP/physio?

Surely you have something with your address on from that time.

Maybe ask what they deem acceptable explaining why you don't have some documents.

Maybe a signed staement form yourt parents.

    Council Tax declared resident.
If I recall correctly, adult children are named on the form even though the bill itself is in your dad / mum's name.

Why aren't you on the electoral register?

In fact, I think it's from age 16 that you have to give your children's names (and anyone else living with you)

So just get a copy of that declaration from the council tax people.

my adult children are not named on my council tax form. I think what you are saying only applies if you want the council tax to be in a single person's name but they are not claiming the single person discount. For a couple there is no need to declare other residents as there would be no reason for the single discount to be applied.

  • I have 2 solicitors letters which i have sent across today,

they wont accept payslips which i have from 2 employers, or P60, or P45.

they would have accepted driving licence, but as i only passed last year they cant

im not sure why i am not on the electoral register for that year, i was on it, in 2012, and 2013, but then for some reason i wasn't on record anymore.

they wont accept national insurance card either.

I've asked my broker to find out what else i might be able to use, but the list she previously provided me i have nothing, i have provided proof of address for 2011,2012,2013,2015,2016, and 2017

i dont even know why they need to know where i lived three years ago.

i asked my mum about council tax bill and she said i wouldn't be on it, i will have to ask her again tonight and see if she can get a copy.

If you vote, your parents would have to put your name on the paper, living at that address.
Perhaps your council/town Hall can help you further.

Ah, perhaps I'm mixing up the electoral register form with the council tax form then!
