Can you use pensioners concessionary pass on X buses?

I can only find reference to the word 'local' in relation to the concessionary scheme. I wondered if my bus pass can be used to go on longer journeys on limited stop buses in different parts of the country which usually have an X prefix eg from Middlesbrough to Newcastle

A concessionary bus pass issued anywhere in England can be used anywhere in England.

It cannot be used on coaches, for example it can't be used on National Express coaches.

I know that you can use them on the X93 Arriva service from Scarborough to Middlesborough via Whitby.

There is no hard and fast rule. Some buses have X route numbers where the pass will be valid, other X numbered routes are coach services where you need to pay.

This is from 2011, but implies that passes are valid on the bus you are looking at

I would contact the bus company involved and ask.
