Halloween: 25 Years Of Terror
In 1978, director John Carpenter changed the face of horror cinema and made movie history with Halloween, the terrifying account of psycho killer Michael Myers' horrific rampage through the small town of Haddonfield. Released as a two-disc DVD set that includes the digitally remastered version of Carpenter's original movie, this set also comes packed with extra features that include extensive footage filmed at the H25 Convention in South Pasadena (the actual filming location for the fictional Haddonfield). Released 22nd October 2007 by Starz Home Entertainment.
Grindhouse Trailer Classics
For the first time ever on DVD in the UK, you can witness the magnificent madness of the movies that stomped all over Hollywood's cinematic taboos in an outrageous orgy of wanton sex, gratuitous violence, dangerous drug abuse and devastating destruction, all played out by a parade of perverts, freaks, monsters, killers, voluptuous vixens and charismatic gun-toting heroes. Compiled by genre movie expert Marc Morris from his own personal archive of over 7000 titles, this is a hand-picked collection of mind-blowing trailers for the 1960s and 1970s cult movies that have inspired the works of a whole generation of contemporary directors. Released 24th September 2007 by Nucleus Films.
Masters Of Horror: Series 2 Volume 1
The acclaimed Masters Of Horror returns to DVD for a second series with more tales of terror from the creative talents responsible for some of the most spine-chilling and seminal horror films ever made. Each disc in the boxed set comes packed with a host of extra features, including audio commentaries, interviews with the directors and stars, "making of" featurettes, director biographies and much more. The seven-disc boxset features the first seven titles in the 13-episode series, each one a brand new, hour-long exercise in fear. Released 8th October 2007 by Starz Home Entertainment.
The Last Sect
This decidedly modern, erotic twist on the vampire genre is a super-entertaining gore-fest. The Last Sect has hot female vamps spicing up the world of Internet dating, using the sites as their own personal delivery services and picking their victims to order. To her horror, a reporter working on an innocent lifestyle story discovers their diabolical secret. But these murderous bad dates are being tracked by a fearsome descendant of their arch-Nemesis, the legendary Van Helsing. This is a miss-at-your-peril, blood-curdling tale of the last vampire sect. Released 15th October 2007 by Momentum Pictures. Read our DVD review.
UKM The Ultimate Killing Machine
Michael Madsen (Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs, Sin City) plays host to a group of students who join the army as an alternative to a stretch in prison after each has made their own mistakes. They soon realise, however, they have been thrown into an experimental facility with a mad doctor intent on using stem cell research to turn them into monstrous Ultimate Killing Machines. To save themselves, they must fight to destroy him and his awesome homicidal creations. Released 15th October 2007 by Momentum Pictures.
Satanic
The Devil is coming in a movie to chill the very fires of Hell. What if you suspected you were guilty of some very wrong things? What if those around you stared dying? What if you’d made a pact with Satan himself? Michelle (Annie Sorrel: Santa’s Slay, Mad Twin) wakes up after a car accident with bandages over her face and no memory of what happened. When she begins having horrific nightmares, she fears she has done something terrible. As people around her are murdered, she must solve the mystery of her past before she is destroyed by dark satanic forces. This is a fright-ride into the heart of a black and evil magic. Released 15th October 2007 by Momentum Pictures.
The Funhouse
A reworking of the ‘old dark house' story, the film's premise is simple but effective. After an evening having fun at a travelling carnival, two teenage couples on a double date decide to spend the night hidden inside the funhouse amongst the fake goblins, skeletons and monsters. But the hi-jinks soon turn into a living nightmare when they witness the murder of the carnival's fortune-teller, Madame Zena at the hands of the showground barker's freakish son, Gunther, and find themselves being stalked by a grotesque creature more terrifying than anything the funhouse itself has to offer. Released 29th October 2007 by Arrow Films.
The Brides Of Dracula
Previously (and inexplicably!) unavailable on any format in the UK, this superlative gothic chiller is one of Hammer's most impressive and highly regarded films. Two years after the huge international box office success of 1958's Dracula, that film's key creative personnel were reunited for the superlative sequel. A true Hammer classic that sees Peter Cushing reprising the role of Van Helsing, this also stars Martita Hunt, Yvonne Monlaur, Freda Jackson and David Peel. Released 22nd October 2007 by Showbox Home Entertainment.
The Evil Of Frankenstein
Peter Cushing stars as the eponymous scientist, in Freddie Francis' The Evil Of Frankenstein. The third of Hammer's Frankenstein movies finds the mad doctor employing the help of hypnotist Professor Zoltan in reviving his creature with the usual tragic results. A double Oscar winner as a cinematographer, Francis ably displays why he was also one of Hammer's directors of choice for so many years. Released 22nd October 2007 by Showbox Home Entertainment.

Things start to look even more unsettling when Joel’s girlfriend is found decapitated. Due to a series of unsolved and similar murders, the media becomes interested, with Joel being the seemingly obvious suspect. Norah sets out to prove his innocence. In the process, her attention is drawn to the fact that Joel seems to have a strong link to Santeria, an occult religion.
