If your bothered about your credit file having AP markers on it for up to 12 years, then let all your accounts default, and get sold on, then come back to address it all in a years time.

If your credit file dosent really matter that much to you, start your DMP as soon as you are able to.

That is the criteria to make your decision by.

    Thank you again Sourcrates.

So being on a DMP would mean I have it marked as AP for 6 years after the final DMP payment, whereas a default will be marked for 6 years and not be marked as AP? Surely the default route is better in terms of having in for a maximum of 6 years only whereas the AP could be for a much longer term?

Partner told, what a huge relief that is.

All letters sent regarding the freeze on my account. Things moving and now I just need to sort out the DMP. Will wait for defaults. Can i actively ask for a default now so I can get things sorted quicker?
