BOOTS specs / Blue light refund

Went to my local large Boots store on Saturday and spoke to the staff at the optical services department, where I had bought two pairs of glasses last summer. I had been sold the blue light lens coating as it was advised to me the importance of this. However, this was featured on the BBC and science shows that the blue light emitted by laptop screens etc, is way below the safe levels anyway. No quibble from Boots whatsoever, they looked up my order on their own system, did not need to see my receipt, and refunded me £75 back to my debit card for the cost of the blue light lens coating!!! :-)

An hour out in summer exposes you to more than 30 times the blue light from a screen, so this is oversell.

If protection is so essential, what about the millions of screen users who don't wear glasses ?

    Hi Teddy's Mum...

Yeah precisely. Glad I went back to Boots as there was absolutely no issue with getting a refund. Little did I expect it to be £75, but was rather pleased it was!!
