Arnold Clark loan

Hi I got a loan back in 2008 when I got a car from Arnold Clark. Someone mentioned to me I should check if there was ppi. The problem is it was 9 years ago I can't remember if I still have the paper.
Am wondering if anyone can help me if they've bought a car with Arnold Clark.
It definitely began with "G" I thought it was something like geo loans but I honestly can't remember. I can't phone Arnold Clark I had nothing, but problems with them. Maybe someone who got a loan with Arnold Clark around the same time. I've tried Arnold Clark website and can't find anything.
If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.

Just to note that quite a few car dealers sold PPI separately from the loan so it wouldn't necessarily show on the loan docs anyway.0

Thanks it's bugging me as on Arnold Clark website the only G loan company is Gmac, but it doesn't sound like it. I thought it would something along the line of Geo, but this was 9 years ago.
I just phoned Arnold Clark and they said they can only look back 5 years.
I've since changed back and moved house, so I think I may have binned. I was hoping maybe someone who got a car around the same time could correct me if they had the same loan company.0 -
The name of the loan company is irrelevant
The issue with PPI is miss-sale, not miss-supply. If you had PPI and feel it was miss-sold to you, you need to complain to the car dealership who sold it to you (unless the salesman was an agent of the finance company rather than someone who worked for the car company). As it was 3 years after regulation started, it would be likely they would have a strong audit trail and records of you agreeing to it. The PPI would be listed on your finance agreement
Companies typically hold finance records for 6 years so for 3 year finance that ended in early 2011, it's quite possible they have deleted the old data in line with the DPA
At best gamble £10 on a DSAR (request for all the data they hold on you) and see if that turns anything up. You can then look into establishing reasons for complaintSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Get a copy of your credit report, it will likely be listed on there.0

Actually if it was Arnold Clark branded stand alone regular premium PPI (which is what Arnold Clark had available from about 2005 onwards as did Pendragon and some of the other larger dealer groups) it would not be listed on the finance agreement.
Looking at the FOS Ombudsman decisions for the group, Arnold Clark do not seem to have any difficulty tracing PPI sales back as far as 2005 so as suggested the OP should just send a complaint to Arnold Clark. However a search on Ombudsman PPI decisions since 2012 for the group indicates FOS upheld only 7 out of 100 cases.0
