One of my creditors has written off my debt. Does anyone know how this should appear on my credit report? It is still showing as late payment-it’s one that never defaulted. Thanks0

Hi Brogden & Suseka
I really don't understand how PRA decide their F&F settlement figures as I have two debts with them , both defaulted in May 2016 and both for similar balances. One of them they pro-actively wrote to me in Nov 2017 offering a F&F settlement with a 35% discount off the outstanding balance. The other one I have heard nothing.
I didn't take up their F&F settlement offer because I don't have the funds available. I've since found this forumand wrote to all my CC creditors to request copies of the CCAs to see if any are UE. So that offer from PRA was without me knowing if it's UE or not. I've had an acknowledgement back of my CCA request from PRA but nothing else as yet. I have had one reply from Tesco and they have sent me copies of my CCA. I dont know if it's enforceable or not but I think the advice on here seems to be to look on the AAD forum. I would be interested to hear from anyone as to how they ascertained if their CCA is UE or not and what's the process with AAD as it wasnt clear to me when I looked or maybe I'm just being thick
Thanks
Haha, I absolutely love Suzeka's 'PRA Discount Countdown.' Its on telly on Saturday at 6:00pm hosted by Jeremy Clarkson :rotfl:!!!
Somewhere in PRA's offices down a long dark and musty corridor through three sets of firedoors there is a tiny room. In that room sits a person with a single brain cell. That person understands what 'unenforcable' means but is not permitted to mix with other staff and is never to be seen at the coffee machine. This person sets, at their discretion the various 'Discount Countdowns' for the lucky customers taking care to ensure that all appears irrational and without any method or formula employed.
The brain police have installed video screens around the office which display and recite repeatedly the company line 'Unenforcable?.....What do you mean?....we don't understand?........' This is very effective in taking over the minds of the many staff with no brain cells at all.
I have spent years in corporate life and know how things can be!!
Seriously now.....it is my belief that the discounts on (sssshhhhhh) 'unenforcable' (who said that?) accounts stay static for a long period before starting to reduce. I think mine had been 95% for quite a while and I think and hope that the guy with the single brain cell has now put me on 'Discount Countdown.'
Thanks everybody for your help and input!!

Hi all,
With Stepchange for last few years and have just done CCA requests to PRA,, BARCLAYS AND LINK.
Have received letters back (4 days after request sent) from PRA enclosing my £1 postal orders stating that they have put my account(s) x4 on hold and will cease any further collection until further notice. They enclosed the PO back as a gesture of goodwill!
Does anyone know if I should advise Stepchange of this?
Any advice would be appreciated thanks0 -

It really depends on the creditor, they could just mark it as satisfied, they may continue making it as late, or they could remove the entire entry, wait and see.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. oooo - I've been having a right wobble with my situation, I've just completed 6 months on token payments with my actual payments due to start 31st May on my self managed plan.
I know my payments are reasonable, I know I can afford them, I know I need to pay them off..... But still panicking!!
My new payments are much more reasonable than they were with SC - and they have been accepted by almost all creditors, but I'm still worried I cant make them. I'm a (self confessed) cow for not making payments and i'm worried I wont do what I need to (so much easier when you make just one payment to a company to sort for you!)
I guess I need to get organised, set up standing orders with my payments and try and forget them - all while sticking to my new budget.... which although is better I still feel like I will have nothing to live on!
I think its the future stretching ahead on a tight budget with no end in sight..... must keep the bigger picture in mind!
Hope you are all doing ok (better than me anyway!)

Wobbles are part of the journeyso not to worry. You will need to get organised, yes - and get the standing orders up and running. Don't focus on how long your journey will take, but do make sure your budget is sustainable. Life throws things at us from time to time, so your plan doesn't have to be linear.. you may need to drop payments along the way and have times when you might be able to increase. As long as you are making payments and reducing your debt, that's all that matters. Trust me, you'll get into the flow of things and then can put your DMP to the back of your mind and just get on with life. Good luck
