What will have been done so far?

I have applied for a HSBC mortgage online. Approved and asked for payslips, bank statements etc etc.

They then come back and ask questions re transfers on my statement which meant I sent more statements.

They now have said they have all the info needed and the case has gone to the underwriter. They said all cases do this.

I asked if affordability has already been checked out and the lady said yes although everytime I call there is a language barrier and i dont think she knew what I was asking.

Does anyone know what will have been completed so far? Is the next stage where most customers will get declined or am I past that stage?

It can get declined at any stage.
