depending on holiday year and how much holiday you took before maternity you may have some carry over.
as above with your new hours they are better of working it on hours and ONLY taking hours off the total for days you get paid but don't work(be they holiday booked or BH if the place closes and you get paid that day).

My office is open on bank holidays. We work one each and get a day off in lieu. Mine is Good Friday.I am employed as a manager in a financial services institution. My views are entirely my own.0

This is confusing. If you get a day off in lieu, you have used one of your holiday days, despite having worked the BH. UNLESS (unlikely in this day and age) the BH is considered a sort of 'double pay' day, where you work the day, get paid for it, AND are given an extra day's leave in recognition of working a BH.
Assuming that your employers are NOT this generous, you simply get 28 days' holiday a year. Or, more accurately, you get 5.6 x your 30 hour week. Every time you are not at work on a scheduled day, you have used a day's leave. The next problem, of course, is how many hours of your leave you use up each time you take a day's leave. Don't let them charge you 8 hours of your leave if you are off on a day when you are due to work only 6.5 hours!Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -

if you get paid for the BH don't work and get a day in lieu taking those of the allocation is correct/OK leaving you days/hours you can book.
if you have 16 days that's 4 weeks/120hr they have taken off 6.4 days which is prorata(4/5) for the 8 BH.
so far that is OK,
The last issue is that the odd BH falls on a TUE or Thurs your non working day, as long as you have at least 6.4 paid BH days you don't work or get a days in lieu.
now this year there are 6 Mons 1 Fri and 1 Tue(boxing day) this means you get extra holiday if you are getting paid for 7.
some years(2019) there will be 2 BH on Tue/Thur then you will be short.
some years(2020) there wil be none on Tues/Thurs then you get paid for 8.
Overall it may be worth considering dropping the query as on average you will be up.0 -

Thanks all. I am paid hourly and submit a time sheet monthly, so my pay varies each month.
If I do not work a bank holiday, I do not get paid for it. If I do work it, I get a day off in lieu.
It's the fact I don't get paid for bank holidays but get the number of days deducted from my allowance that confuses me?!I am employed as a manager in a financial services institution. My views are entirely my own.0
