I'm loving this thread - its my partners birthday tomorrow and he has everything. Luckily his watch strap broke last week so I splashed out and bought a lovely watch by ingersoll (gems collection) I paid £60.00 on the whole brand new on ebay no less and it retails at £400. I have no idea what to get my man otherwise. But loving the idea of a little love box etc. I'm a liverpool fan myself and already done the tour of the stadium, I ended up working there match days. You can perhaps try to arrange for him to watch the team train on a training day - they train in West Derby in Liverpool and if you write to the club with the birthday request (suggest asap) they will probably be able to help you out. To watch them train is just as good as watching them play if you're a true fan :-) I've never had the priviledge of watching them train and my partner isn't into football :-(0

If you're crafty how about making up a scrapbook of your time together, i.e. photos of you both from then til now, i.e. a page for 'first date', where/how you met, where he took you for your first date; a page for your first Christmas together, first Valentine, etc. You can get all sorts of scrapbooking stuff, i.e. little envelopes you can write messages inside, or if you've saved things like cinema tickets, cards, etc, you can incorporate these.
Or bake him a birthday cake and decorate with subbuteo figures on a green icing pitch with his age on a score board.
or organise a surprise party and invite friends that he hasn't seen for a while...

I've been following this thread with interest as I'm always stuck as to what to buy my OH for birthdays and Christmas.
I know for a fact my OH just would laugh if I gave him a love box, sexy vouchers, cd's of 'our' music or anything like that. He just isnt into the emotional, sentimental things like I am
I usually just stick to gadgets, the good thing about Christmas/birthdays is that the gift doesnt have to be useful, as you said if he needs something he can get it himself, but would he normally buy the little gadgetty (is that a word haha) stuff that he may look and like but not justify having.
I'm currently planning a cheap weekend away for my OH for Christmas, especially if I could get one of those Hoxton hotel £1 a night rooms, it seems extravagent to him and it's a short break for me too
I hope I dont sound negative about the ideas others have, I promise I'm not being, I'd love to receive those things but men just arent as sentimental as woman
Anyway goodluck and let us know how you get on

Does he like fast cars? What about a driving experience? (you didn't say but if money is an issue, ignore me) One of the best presents hubby ever got me was a day at a zoo where I hand fed a Tiger. It was excellent.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

Is he a drinker? The best pressie I ever got my dad was a bottle of Famous Grouse personalised whisky (from their website). It says "The Famous Waxy Bean's Dad" on the label and a message from me on the back.
He's refilled it many times since, and much to my mum's disgust insists on displaying it with her ornaments in a glass cabinet.
:TThanks for that idea i buy my dad famous grouse every christmas now i can make a little more interesting :j:AEverytime a bell rings an angel his gets wings0 -
Boots have a gift box with Football shares for various clubs, pretty sure Liverpool FC was one of them.
I know the problem you have my husband's birthday is new year's eve!Dusty_Moth wrote: »Hiya,
I was wondering if anyone could help me with a little inspiration. My other half has his birthday mid November swiftly followed by Christmas, and I am really struggling with thinking of something to get him this year for either. He is much better paid than I am and so tends to just buy something if he fancies it, and never ends up needing anything because he always buys it – for example Halo 3 was pre ordered so already on it’s way!
He’s a Liverpool fan, and likes to look after himself with posh smells and nice clothes – things I can’t really afford at the moment but he has quite a lot of already! He likes doing the Times cryptic crossword, so last year I got him a new set of dictionaries and thesaurus and a kite (big kid with outdoor things though he doesn’t go out on his bike as much as he used to any more). I like buying little prezzies that have had thought gone into them but I’m quite stuck this year! He’s quite classy, and heading towards 40…
Help! Any ideas gratefully received! I can be quite crafty and I have a geeky streak, so not averse to making things either!
Thank you!0 -
Well, I ended up with 2 CD's, a personal organiser-y thing (I got at a third of the RRP for:)), a box of 5 knots a boy should know and some personal cheques
Mum and dad got him the new Liverpool away shirt...
I'm now out of ideas for christmas, and his ex has just informed me (at least with notice this time) I've got to buy from the kids as well. They (we) got him socks and smellies and some chocoalte covered coffee beans for his birthday....
So I guess I'm asking again for bright ideas/pointers - perhaps I should get him the harmonica this time?!!! He's said he doesn't want any sweets already, but at least he also said don't spend much on me! (I don't think he's guessed I never have previously!)0
