Advice on career development

Hi
I am looking for some advice on developing my skills and qualifications further. I am in my mid 30s and have been in managerial positions since graduating in my early 20s. My current position is my most senior and I have been in role for nearly 2 years. I have always managed large teams and have acquired leadership skills working in 2 large multinationals.
I am always interested in furthering my career and want to understand how I could do more. I have thought about studying for an accredited qualification such as for CIMA but don't know if it is as valuable as for instance an accredited qualification for accountants. Obviously since there is a cost involved I want to make the right decision. Any other advice also welcome.
Thanks

Didn't the large multinationals you worked for have leadership programmes?
Why are you looking at CIMA as a qualification? Are you happy to retrain and work as an accountant after managing large teams?
Nowadays the focus is on continuous development & learning - you may find studying more difficult than when you were an undergraduate if you're not done any significant courses - unless you intend to take a sabbatical.0 -
Hi
Yes I have had quiet extensive leadership training over the years which has been valuable. I should have said CMI not CIMA as I want to stay in general management roles. My objective is to enhance my skills on paper as well as in practice in order to stay competitive.
