NatWest loan and overdraft sold to DCA as one debt

I'm trying to pay them, have been on a dmp which I no longer qualify for, I've come here trying to look for advice on how to get my full & final offers accepted. Im not trying to dodge my debts at all, and I'm not sure where you've got that impression. I thought if I asked for CCA and they hadn't got it, then it may persuade them to take a lower offer, as I can't afford their demands. I really don't see why that's so wrong? I'm just trying to pay my debts and start again.
I've worked hard all my life and then I get made redundant and my husbands wages were cut by 50%, that is why we are in debt. I don't know why I'm being judged here.:(0 -
Your full and final offer will be accepted if the bank agree to it. No one on here can magic up a formula that they will agree to. It will have to be a realistic offer, they are not going to just accept 'what you can afford'.
You haven't mentioned anything about your assets, house, car, etc. If you don't sort this out, your assets will become the banks assets.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0 -
If you haven't already it's probably worth having a chat with one of the free debt charities who will have helped people through situations just like yours before and be best placed to offer advice. Give Stepchange a call and see what they have to say, they should be more helpful than us stroppy bunch on here.Freemannodebt wrote: »I'm trying to pay them, have been on a dmp which I no longer qualify for, I've come here trying to look for advice on how to get my full & final offers accepted. This forum is meant to be non-judgemental, at least it would be had you posted in the DFW board! *hint hint*
I hope you didn't think I was being judgemental as it seems that my post precipitated some frankly nasty replies. I don't care why you're in debt as it's none of my business. However if I can help in any small way I'd gladly do so.
Who was providing your DMP? I find it very mean spirited of the provider to say you're not able to use their services? Please tell me it wasn't a charity one (Which means, get talking to Stepchange today!). If it was a fee-paying service, take it as a blessing as you should never pay to be in debt and that's exactly what these crooks are doing (Speaking in general here in case you're not using a fee-based service).
If Wescot can't find your CCA, then legally they cannot enforce the debt and the position would change dramatically. However, as they're only managing this debt and it was comparatively recent, they only need to produce a reconstituted copy. I wouldn't bank on that, but of course there's no harm in exhausting every avenue you can.
However, as I said, speak to a debt charity today also, there is ALWAYS help available, and you wont be judged, I promise you that.

Also, If you need any free and impartial debt advice, the National Debtline, Stepchange, and the CAB can help.0 -
Let's try to clear up confusion,
If the debt is 5/6 years old - they are unlikely to take you to court, and this is only route for bailiffs, and that only if you don't pay.
The debt has been sold as a package but the lender / debt collector will collect as separate debts even if they where bought as a package that's just terminology they have used.
Also if you hadn't paid or acknowledged the debt you could have argued Statue Barred, but this depended when you last paid, but you have acknowledged so this option is now gone.
Step Change is a debt charity who might be able to offer you some help, and depending on your circumstances which is the big picture work wise etc you could ask them to write this offf
Hope this helps 0
