Mortgage rejection

I have recently had my mortgage application rejected with Danske bank for something I never thought would even affect it.
Getting an insurance quote from compare the market.
My credit history is excellent, never missed payment on credit cards despite having multiple lines of credit.
Mortgage is
times annual income.
Doing 1 quotation on compare the market has sent no less than 36 credit checks to my report and Danske say this has caused them to reject.
I called experian who say these are only Id checks and they literally have zero affect on my rating so they would assume they shouldn't be taking these into account.
Is there anything you would suggest doing here to try and push the application through?
Thanks

I have no experience dealing with Danske Bank however I would be surprised if they've stated that this is the sole reason for your application being declined.I am a Mortgage BrokerYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Broker, so you need to take my word for it.

What exactly did Danske say?0

They just said that their computer system had rejected it due to the amount of credit searches in the past 2 months.
The report they receive doesn't seem to show that they are just id checks and they seem to think they are actual applications for credit.
They are aware that they are all from the same 3 insurance companies. Have said they are getting the head of mortgages to review it.
All seems a bit strange that getting insurance quotes (of which I pay for outright anyway) can put the entire house buying process in jeopardy.0
