ive been on a dmp for the last year - self run but supervised/advised by CAB. I have just had one of the creditors re issue a default notice. None of the other have so far. I am wondering is this usual? I new they could but am now thinking that if my plan takes 10 years to pay off and they re issue every six months like they are entitled to do so it will be 16yrs before my credit history is clean. What are other peoples experiences of default re issuing? and is my thinking on the time scale correct?

Hi grey
I dont have any knowledge of DMP (many do though and will be along shortly) but I do hear the question of default / non acceptence asked often so I dont think it can be that rare!
Sorry, thats not very helpful is it

HI
I've been defaulted by a few creditors - but what has then happened is that they have then either been able to stop interest and charges and have accepted the payments for now- the other ones are being referred to a debt management company, who have been a bit frosty, but I pay what I pay and there is nothing they can really do! I think once they've defaulted you once, they won't do it again, but obviously I can't be sure. That is what I've been advised from CCCS anyway.
Hope that helps!

thanks for the advice - they had already defaulted me once - this is the second time in a year and they had already frozen interest. I had continued to pay the agreed amount to them and they say not to worry its "normal".0
