Coventry Flexx vs Tracker

Afternoon all, I'm hoping for a little advice. I'm looking to purchase in the near future, currently looking at properties in the £240-50k range with a deposit of £70k ready to put down. I'm not interested in the 2-5yr fix options and was looking at either a tracker mortgage with Santander or a Flexx mortgage with Coventry. I'm leaning towards the Coventry as it is the lower rate and they seem to be a well regarded mortgage provider, but it concerns me that they would be free to hike the rate should they choose to. Does anyone have any experience of Coventry at all? I'm a first time buyer by the way, although I don't think that makes much difference.

I've been with Coventry for 20 years and their Flexx has always followed the base rate.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
