remortgaging a key worker mortgage, prev bad credit history

Hi all,

we currently have a key working mortgage and as i had a couple of defaults (which should be 'spent ' now)we had to get a interest only mortgage with sub lender mortgages1. This was done through a broker. My husband has a good credit rating but mine isn't so good but i'm working to make it better and i shouldn't have any defaults when its time to remortgage next may. What do you think our chances are of getting a 'high street ' mortgage? we are going to be looking at paying off the key working part part of mortgage and releasing equity in the house to pay off some debts too which we wont be able to do if we still have the key working 'gift' as part of our mortgage because they would not allow and advance on mortage other than for home improvements.. do you think this would be worthwhile?

thanks
