Sticky stain - help!

Hi there, my friend has obtained some kind of sticky pink stain on her shorts and I was wondering if any of you wonderful people could offer up any tips as to how to get rid of it without resorting to expensive stain removers!! The shorts are also pink, but a different shade.

If it's chewing gum or sweets a short time in the freezer may do the trick then once it's hard she could scrape it off x hthI don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0
