Im new... help!! lol

Hi Guys

Well im 24 and i seem to have got myself into debt!! I did try and get myself out of it earlier in the year by borrowing some money from my mum, and clearing my debts, but i somehow ran them back up again.

I now owe around £6k to my bank (loan and credit card) and £4k to my mum!

Anyway, i have now got it into my head that i want to move abroad (dont ask!!), but i feel i need to clear my debt, and also to have some savings as well. I am aiming for 6 months, but im quite pesimistic as to if this will work!

I have a full time job in an office, and a part time job 3 evenings a week in a pub. I write down my expenditure every month and do stick to it most of the time!!!

If anyone has any suggestions re: savings, or how to claim any money back or something, please come forward!!! I need all the help i can get!

xxxx

OKay - I am also comparatively new but I do know for the more experienced to be able to help you you will need to post a full SOA (Statement of Account) there is a sticky on the forum which gives you full details. I tend only to but in if I think I can help but in the meantime - Welcome!

Have you ever took PPI out on a loan or credit card? Thats a quick nice easy one!

But really you could do with posting your SOA see if there is any tweaking and keep up the good work really!
  • Have a look at the thread 'First Time Posters' Thread which will show you how to do an SOA (Incomings and Outgoings)

I'm 25 and know how you feel, but you are in the right place to deal with this.

    Welcome and good luck

    Welcome Amy!

It's always good to have a definite reason for wanting to be debt free (like wanting to move abroad etc) - it gives you something to aim for.

Will look forward to your SOA to see if we can make any suggestions - also, what about a bit of ebaying/car booting etc - good for bringing in a bit of extra cash!

  • Ebay is a great way of making some cash - you can be ruthless as you are going to move, there must be lots of stuff you dont want to pay to ship abroad?

Depending on where you are going DVD's might not work, clothes/shoes might be wrong for the climate and i'm sure you want to lug heavy books over there either. Makeup sells (even used), electricals if the plug is wrong.....
