my credit score is poor was poor last year too and loads and loads of debts have come off ince.. i dont understand?

Hiya redpoison. It is a regulation of the FSA that any financial institution has to advise you if a credit check will be carried out and the depth to which that will be done. They are also required to advise you of whether or not the check will leave a "footprint" on your credit rating, ie will be visible to others and of the fact that numerous credit checks could adversely affect your credit rating.
To be honest 2 credit checks are unlikely to impair your credit rating significantly but probavly best to leave it at that for a while, they will drop off in 6 months anyhoo,
However do voice a strongly worded complaint to the companies mentioned, nationwide especially should know better!! hope this helps. P xxdebt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0
