Loan for electric conversion
Options
Hi all !!
As the title suggests converting van i to electric. It's a camper van and I figured the amount of driving I do it's will eventually be worth it. I do around 20k a year in a diesel. Also because it is a camper I could save on hotels too.
I was just wonder what people think. The conversion is not cheap around 35k so it probably be about 10 years for my investment to repay. I also need to take a Loan out does any one have any suggestions? Are there kaons for "green" projects? What would be the best type of loan for me? Which would offer the best rates?
All help will be much appreciated
Thanks for your help

Spammer aside...
It sounds like a very bad idea to spend 35k on electric van conversion. Per your numbers, you will need to wait ten years just to break even, by which time the van will finally break too. And you will be left, broke, paying finance on that 35k conversion.0 -

It's probably a cheaper option to buy a new electric camper van than to convert an existing one. The Dalbury E is advertised from £33,995 OTR (including battery), other models are probably available too.

If I was going to convert it, I'd have it converted to run on SVO.0

e/NV200 max range 106 miles according to the NEDC, so its probably under 80 miles if you ever use the radio or lights etc.
Correction.. AE mag tested the combi and 75miles appears to be its real range.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Be cheaper to just carrying on smoking large amounts of herbs that it sounds like the OP must be consuming.0

If it's only 75 miles away, just drive home.
A friend acquired her parents old car when they first spent about £20,000 on a caravan, then £15000 on a new car to tow it.
I said if they left the money in the bank they could spend the interest on staying in four star hotels instead.
OK, savings interest rates have dropped since then, but you get the idea, especially if borrowing is involved.0
