TERMS & CONDITIONS
By submitting an entry, each entrant is deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.
1. Entrants must be residents of the United Kingdom and be at least 18 years of age at the time
they submit their entry. Verification of identity and date of birth will be required upon
acceptance of the prize.
2. A person will be entered into the "Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games: Win a trip to
Queensland” competition by visiting the competition website,
http://www.queensland.com/win2018trip and completing the entry form with valid details
during the period, Monday 13 March 2017 11.59pm GMT to Monday 17 April 2017 11.59pm
GMT. A person is only permitted to make one eligible entry.
3. The competition Prize comprises:
A) two (2) tickets to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony on 4 April
2018, and
A Queensland/Commonwealth Games holiday to the value of £10,000, to be booked with
Flight Centre UK for the flights, accommodation and touring components.
4. The holiday will be tailor-made to your needs but must include as a minimum:
 return flights from the UK to Brisbane
 Return flights between Brisbane and Cairns
 accommodation on the Gold Coast
 accommodation in Tropical North Queensland
 a trip to the Great Barrier Reef in Tropical North Queensland
5. Flight Centre UK will manage expenditure of the prize amount. If the Winner wishes to spend
part of the prize value on tickets for any of the Commonwealth Games Events, the Winner may
book and pay for tickets directly on the CG2018 website, and request reimbursement by bank
transfer from the £10,000 prize value. The cost of any holiday components or Events tickets in
excess of the prize value will be incurred by the Winner. Any unspent amount will not be
refunded, exchanged or redeemed for cash.
6. All elements of the Prize are subject to availability and all travel must be booked by 9 February
2018. Travel purchased using the Prize value is valid for travel between 23 March 2018 and 30
April 2018 only. Operator terms and conditions apply for any flights, accommodation, or other
goods and services purchased as part of the Prize.
7. The prize winner will be selected by a random draw conducted by Tourism and Events
Queensland on 19 April 2017 9.00am AEST (11.00pm GMT). The winner will be notified after the
draw via their email address, as supplied in their entry form. If a winner does not respond and
accept the Prize within two weeks following the draw a replacement winner may be drawn at the
Promoter’s discretion.
8. The Prize is supplied as is, and is not transferable, exchangeable, redeemable for cash and
cannot be sold. The prize winner will be contacted by the Promoter and provided with a
dedicated travel consultant at Flight Centre UK who will organise and book the prize holiday.
The winner will notify the consultant of their preferred dates of travel and bookings will be made
subject to availability before the advised booking deadline.
9. Employees and Directors of the Promoter or agencies associated with the promotion, and their
immediate families, are ineligible to enter the competition.
10. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the Prizes or any
variation in the prizes advertised and the prizes provided. All expenses outside of the stated
prize are at the cost and responsibility of the winner. It is the responsibility of the prize winner to
ensure the winner and their travel companion have a valid passport and travel visa. Travel
insurance is not provided and the Promoter recommends the prize winner and travel companion
obtain comprehensive travel insurance including medical coverage prior to travel.
11. Each entrant releases and indemnifies the Promoter and agencies associated with the
competition against all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of acceptance of any prize or
participation in the competition including (but not limited to) personal injury and damage to
property and whether direct or consequential, foreseeable, due to some negligent act or
omission or otherwise.
12. By entering the competition, entrants accept that the Promoter will be capturing personal
information including name, date of birth, address, and email address. Entrants accept that the
Promoter and all parties associated with the promotion may use their name, contact details and
likeness for their promotional and publicity purposes without the payment of any fee.
13. Any use of robotic, repetitive, automatic, programmed or similar entry methods or agents will
void all entries by that entrant. In the event of a dispute over who submitted an entry, the
authorised subscriber of the email account used to participate in the competition at the actual
time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The Promoter’s decision concerning any aspect of
the competition is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
