Less than £1 a bottle? Now that’s craft(y) beer buying

Options
'Craft beer is all the rage at the minute, and I must admit I have a bit of a weakness for the stuff myself. But with (small) bottles typically going for £1.80+, it’s not the cheapest penchant to sustain. So here are some tips to down the cost of indulging.'

This all seems a bit complicated compared to a trip to your local Morrisons or Aldi, both of which tend to have 2-3 decent craft beers on offer at any one point. In Scotland it's not unusual to be able to pick up Brewdog, Williams Brothers, West or similar for £1-1.50/bottle.

I often pick up interesting beers at B&M at low prices.

I know it's not technically craft beer but they are currently doing Guinness Foreign Extra at £1 for a 330 ml bottle

    Morrisons at the moment:

    Rhymeny Bitter 500ml £1
    Badger Leaping Legend 500ml £1
Brewdog Ace of Equinox 330ml £1.25

So I was in Morrisons this afternoon and looked for these - no sign of them.

    However, I did pick up

Wychwood King Star 330 ml can 97p
Marshall Rock n Roll 330 ml bottle £1

Not every shop sells alcohol. Of the three nearest to me only one sells it and 15 miles away
