in Cutting tax
Greetings All!
Hope all is well.
Hoping you can help me help a friend with some tax relief.
He is an employed builder and has been for the past five years.
To my understanding he can claim for the previous four years and the current tax year for:
1) Flat rate expenses (£120 @ 20% IT) for each year.
2) Capital allowances for tools purchases.
As for business mileage am I right in each worksite is treated as a primary place of work hence he cannot claim mileage to and from this site (he does not drive round the site once arrived).
If I am missing anything please shout!
Many thanks in advance!

It might be advisable for your friend to check his personal tax account as this will show how his tax code is calculated and therefore he can see if he had already claimed anything (posts on the main flat rate expense/laundry thread on MSE show plenty of people forget they had claimed and are not due anything more now)
If employed why isn't the employer paying for tools needed to do the job0 -

Hi Both. Thanks for the input.
As for the tools its the trade expected to bring their own tools to the job!Hope For The Best, Plan For The Worst0
