Who are www.finarea.ch ?! and why are they taking my money?

Options
I have a payment on my account to https://www.finarea.ch
And I have no idea who they are!
Is this the billing name for 1899 do you know?
Its only a payment for £10 but I dont like not knowing
When you go to the website it asks you to enter your credit card number so they can tell you what you have been billed for - I dont like the sound of that at all! so havent entered my details
can anyone shed any light?
I've made my debts bite-size too depressing to look at all at once so am handling them one at a time - first up Graduate Loan £1720 paid off! only £280 to go!!!
Money to raise for tuition fees: £3000
When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on!!

Google says they run Call18866. Article from the Guardian here.

I think you need to prefix calls with 18866 for it to route through them. Website is listed on the Guardian page to see if your number has an account with them and for how much.

    Also 1899:
'Payment is handled by Bibit and the name Bibit may appear on your bank/card statement. Depending on the issuing bank payments may also be shown as Finarea or Connect Telecom.'
Once I even disputed the Finarea transaction with my credit company by mistake. Money was refunded but my 1899 access had been blocked...

Thanks - I do have 1899 so that is ok!
I think 1899 need to make that clear when you sign up - I imagine they get quite a few fraud allegations!
Phew! Glad am not being ripped off (again) :T

Actually they make this clear in every invoice! The quotation above is from the invoice. Unfortunately sometimes invoices are delayed and money is taken before you receive an invoce. Just this happened once with me.

I just had one on my credit card, asked VISA to check it out. Now I can see it's 1899. Oops. It's all AOL's fault. They would not let me use my e-mail to register a 1899 account so I used hotmail. As I never check that hotmail account, I did not get a bill, so problems solved
