DMP Set Up

Hi again

Please forgive me for any errors with my postings(new as you will see), thanks for earlier advice re DMP. My next question is can anyone advise how long after consulting with CCCS it takes for a DMP to be set up.

Hi Mayz, mine took about 5 days to receive all the paperwork from CCCS & my first payment was on the 1st of the next month & it was paid to the creditors on the 23rd of the month. Not sure if they do the same dates for everyone. 1st payment you have to make via giro & cash at the post office thereafter you can set up a direct debit like i have. They send you out a statement every month but you can check this also on their website. So in answer to your question not very long at all. They contact your creditors fairly quickly too prior to them sending out the 1st payment with your statement of incomings/outgoings & proposed DMP payment. With your pack you will get a letter which you need to copy & complete for each of your creditors which states you're on a DMP & the reference number. It is advised to send a token payment with the letter to cover you until the DMP starts, if you can only afford £1 send that. Yes, this is very similar to what happened with me too - I have had quite a few letters and phonecalls though and I've been on my DMP since March- so it might quiet down for a while - but might start up again, but as has already been said the CCCS is utterly fabulous! Call them if you are worried about anything and they will offer support which has been a life saver!

Not sure if im adding this in the right place, but can anyone guide me to a function i found (then lost) on this site? it was a calculator where you added all your credit card debts and there interest rate and it tell you how long it will take to pay off. it was so useful and i didnt save it! thanks for the help
