Station managers do remove abandoned bikes. The usual indicators they look for are: dust, rust and flat tyres. They will also normally fix a notice to the bike giving notice of removal.
So if your bike is maintained to look like it's not abandoned, and as elverson suggests move it around sometimes I'm sure you'll be fine.0
