RMA/Barclaycard Attachment of Earnings Threat

Hi All,
My debt with Barclaycard went to a Debt Recovery Agent called RMA a few months ago and they have continually refused to accept my offer of payment. I have supplied a financial statement and continued paying an amount I can afford but they hold firm.
Now they are saying that Barclaycard have started a court order for an attachment of earnings for the amount that they want each month. This amount is a lot higher than what I have worked out I can afford and, since I have other creditors and have divided my disposable income between them pro-rata, means I will have to reduce my payments to them, which doesn't seem fair at all. If each of my creditors took this line of action I would be in deep doo-doo.
Has this happened to anyone else? I've got a feeling that RMA are bluffing as they have been very aggressive and suggested all sorts of unreasonable things.
If it does go through can I challenge it? Can anyone let me know what the process is? Would I have a CCJ against me?
Many thanks in advance.
Louisa

If you get a court claim form (and it's still an IF - this could just be a threat) you should ask to pay by instalments and fill in the income/expenses part of the claim form. If the court agrees, the creditor cannot go for an attachment of earnings order as long as you keep to the ordered payments. How much is the debt and how much are you paying at present?0

I owe £4800 at present and I am paying £60 per month. RMA want £150 though!
The guy I spoke to at RMA said that the application would solely be for attachment of earnings and would only be set at that amount, but I thought attachment of earnings was a last resort if you didn't pay your installments willingly.0
