Evening all
Will try and keep brief , I currently have a ccj and CO on my home total outstanding is £7300 issued by Link Financial , which I pay £48.00 per month. CCJ was issued in Dec 2013. I recently tried to negotiate a F&F for £2000 as you may have guessed they refused, my second offer was £2800, again rejected. However received letter today stating they will accept £5766.86p , they state they will update my file showing as partially settled and the CO removed , stating they will close my account with no further monies owed and needs to reach them by 17th March . My issue is I don't have that money however through family member can raise £3800. I know the debt is mine so would like to resolve . I know they are in a good position as they have CCJ & CO , however for my own peace of mind would like to get settled now as opposed to another 12 yrs to clear . Any advice how now best to approach , part of me thinks continue to pay the CCJ eand then try again in a few months but if there is any way to negotiate to £3800then I would settle now . Any experience with this or advice greatly received ,
Cheers

You've done well to get them down to 79% as they have a ccj and CO. Shows what can be done.
You have offered 38% and can only afford to go to 52%.
Yes, keep paying and keep negotiating - it sounds like you will get there eventually. But I don't have any particular tricks - they hold the upper hand legally.0 -
Should dealt with a long time ago and never got a CCJ but life's for learning and did have some mitigating circumstances.
I will make my final offer if not accepted will send. Statement of affairs and apply to court to have my monthly payment reduced. Nothing to lose I suppose

I never asked for CCA either, wish I had. Although recently made a claim for PPI against MNBA was rejected quickly stating I never had PPI. Can only assume they had copies of my original agreement.
I'm not sure if anything can be done once got a CCJ against you and now try and retrospectively fight as no original agreement ?0 -

I shouldn't have let it get that far either but it's done now. Thing is since they got the ccj last June I've only ever received one letter chasing payment. So they can't be that worried about getting the money!
