Sale of company - TUPE breach??

Hi All.

I am looking for some advice.

I work for a small family owned company and on Tuesday last we were informed by the owner that the company had been sold, the deal had been concluded on the previous Friday.

There had been no consultation with any of the employees prior to the Tuesday meeting and we were introduced to the new owner at the same meeting.

The original owner is retiring and the new owner has big plans and assured that nothing will change for employees and that it is "business as usual".

My role has always been based at the company premises with the occasional customer visit to cover when another employee wasn't available.

In direct discussions with the new owner it has been indicated that I will be required to spend a few days a week doing customer visits UK wide, lots of travel and time away from home. I am not happy with this and feel I am being forced to say yes.

Similar discussions have happened with other staff members.

What would be the best approach, this has all happened so quickly.

Many thanks.

    what does your contract say?

and if the company has been sold its not TUPE, its just new owners, so nothing changes
