Is your ex to pay the £5 because he is on Benefits? If so, surely it would come straight off to you.
If not on benefits, all those five pounds will mount up, and eventually the CSA will either take court action or get his employers to make the payment from his pay packet:wave:0 -
he was working but packed in when they told him he would have to pay £41 a week, his wife got a job straight away and shes now keeping him0

Is he claiming benefits ?, if he is then they can take it straight out of his JSA0

i am in same position and it comes straight out of his benefits and are payed straight away normally every fortnight0

If he isn't on benefits, which he isn't, then they will have to take enforcement action against him to recover the money if his partner doesn't pay it. It needs to build up a bit before they do this though.0

Why should his partner pay?kelloggs36 wrote: »If he isn't on benefits, which he isn't, then they will have to take enforcement action against him to recover the money if his partner doesn't pay it. It needs to build up a bit before they do this though.Information is not knowledge.

Not saying that they should but it would be the only way it would get paid, isn't it?0

If you are, as seems to be the case here, now accepting that there could be a reason for someone totally unconnected to a child to pay maintenance for that child, where should it end? How about a PWC's new partner paying?kelloggs36 wrote: »Not saying that they should but it would be the only way it would get paid, isn't it?
No? I thought not, and quite right too. There is no more reason for the third party in my example to do such a thing than in this particular case. You can't have it both ways.
PS I've been away from the board for a little while. Did you have a fab holiday?Information is not knowledge.

I had a fab holiday thanks!!
I'm not suggesting for one minute that it is right for a person totally unconnected to pay for the child support, I am merely pointing out the reality of the legislation which does not allow for many categories of nil assessments. So, if an NRP who earns nothing has a fiver per week assessment, reality means that the partner will end up paying it and this is the only way to avoid enforcement action being taken against the NRP for not paying. Crazy as it seems as they still have to pay even with nil income, but that is the way it is.0 -
How does that happen? When my ex gave up her job, the CSA letter to me simply said "Income = £0, maintenance = £0" Are you saying I was ripped off by your employer?kelloggs36 wrote: »So, if an NRP who earns nothing has a fiver per week assessment ...
