Interview Official Receiver

Hi there!

Short questions to all who have had the interview with the official receiver:

How do the officiel receiver get in touch with me after bankruptcy order is made? (phone? email? letter?)
How many time do they give for the questionary?
How many days are between information for the interview and the interview itself?
Can i reschedule the appointment if the date doesn´t suit me with no complications?

The story is easy. I want to declare bankrupt soon. But 1-2 weeks later i will have guests for a week and of course, i don´t want to have that interview while iam having guests at home.

I wonder if i easy can reschedule the interview-appointment if it doesn´t suit me.
If not, i think i have do wait to declare bankrupt after my guests are gone. But i would prefere not to wait so long and declare bankrupt before they come over.

What is your experience?

Thanks all!

    Hi
I was contacted initially by phone about 3 days after the BR was approved, then it was all email until the actual call.
I was able to change the day of my interview.
My paperwork arrived the day of the interview and I sent it back a couple of days later. My interview was after school pickup time so I took all my paperwork and the phone into another room, gave the kids something to keep them busy and kept my fingers crossed that I would get through the call without them wanting something!
I think it was about a week and a half from submitting to interview.

  • Sorry to thread hijack but what kind of thing were the emails about and what did the paperwork involve?

I've also heard 1-2 weeks is normal.

Emails were about arranging the interview and a couple of questions I had prior to interview, and the paperwork is a few forms to sign. One giving permission (over riding data protection) for the OR to look into your affairs i.e benefit claims, bank account etc to get a feel I guess for your financial dealings/ situation prior to BR. And also one to let the OR claim any PPI you might be entitled to so they get it and distribute it between your creditors. There was a form to sign about saying you understand about the BR and that you will comply with the OR. There may have been others of a similar kind.

  • Ok thanks. When you say benefit claims, any idea what they look at?

Eighth Anniversary 100 Posts Name Dropper Combo Breaker
Back to the OP, I was written to and received it about 4 days after my BR date (I was declared BR, not self declared)
the letter requested a s face to face the following week, which I couldn't do due to childcare commitments, I called and knocked in on a week, they couldn't have been more accommodating
the interview itself was a breeze, very civil
